Imphal (Manipur), 31 Oct (ANI): In an estimate, around 52,000 metric tonnes of fish is required for consumption in the state, whereas only 32,000 metric tons are being produced annually. The remaining gap is filled by importing fish from other states.
To fill the gap, the fishery sector has adopted the Biofloc fish farming method. Biofloc technology is a technique of enhancing water quality in aquaculture through balancing carbon and nitrogen in the system.
